MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – June 18, 2012 – Tintri, Inc., the leading producer of VM-aware, flash-based storage appliances, today announced the opening of a Tintri office in Japan, further extending the availability of its products and support offerings in the region. The announcement demonstrates Tintri’s continued momentum following 30 new customers in Q1 2012 and key software updates to Tintri VMstore, including advanced cloning capabilities and VAAI support.
“The Japan market has been important to our overall growth objectives and the launch of a local Tintri office further demonstrates our commitment to this market,” said Kieran Harty, Tintri CEO. “After experiencing explosive demand for VM-aware storage in Japan, we believe opening an office is the next logical step in our larger growth strategy for Tintri in 2012 and beyond.”
Heading up the Tintri Japanese office (Tintri Japan, G.K.) are Michiaki Kono and Kenji Shuto, who come from EMC Japan where they were previously responsible for starting up Data Domain Japan. As experienced and proven industry veterans, Kono will be heading up sales efforts while Shuto will serve as the technical/SE director in Japan. Tintri Japan, G.K. will partner with distributors and systems integrators to deliver the VMstore appliance products to market.
“We believe that the formal presence of Tintri in Japan will significantly increase the market adoption of Tintri’s VMstore as enterprises seek to overcome legacy storage bottlenecks and simplify operations in their virtual environments,” said Kono. “More and more data centers in Japan are being virtualized, and we see a great opportunity for Tintri in providing a superior alternative to traditional networked storage adapted to VMs.”
In addition to business development, sales and marketing for the Japanese market, the Tintri Japan office will provide local technical support and services. To connect with Tintri Japan, contact email@example.com.
