How to get public cloud agility in your data center
If you want public cloud agility in your data center, conventional infrastructure won’t do. Instead, you need an enterprise cloud built as a set of web services for automation, orchestration, extensibility and scale. The Tintri enterprise cloud platform, based on the Tintri CONNECT architecture, works like public cloud architecture—using web services that are easy to assemble, integrate, tear down, and reconfigure. It also connects to other services like compute and network, and to public clouds and other third-party platforms. CONNECT architecture allows organizations to take every action at the application level, including setting replication policies, crunching analytics and de ning quality of service.
Tintri OS greatly simplifies the interaction between the virtualized infrastructure, the VM running on top of it, and the underlying storage that serves that infrastructure. Tintri OS incorporates a number of data protection and high availability features, including protection against double-drive failures, failed drive rebuild even under data read-error scenarios, and real-time error correction.

Deliver Consistent Application Performance
Unlike traditional storage systems, which do not differentiate VMs and simply funnel them through the FIFO “I/O blender,” each VM and container on Tintri gets its own “lane” (see Figure 1). That contains the noisy neighbor problem, while ensuring balanced performance among VMs and containers. Application performance becomes more predictable even with mixed workloads, and over-provisioning becomes obsolete.
Guaranteed Quality of Service
Traditional storage requires users to manually intervene to manage performance levels, Tintri’s CONNECT architecture provides automated quality of service to help ensure that every application performs as desired. You can set performance minimum and maximum thresholds for individual critical applications to optimize performance. In turn, you can use those capabilities to build and charge for various QoS tiers in a multi-tenant environment.

Tintri OS enables deeper visibility into every application, unlike conventional storage that aggregates and averages metrics over hundreds of virtualized applications. With Tintri, you’ll see across compute, network and storage and identify underperforming applications, addressing the root cause of latency in less time and with less effort. You can point out latency from network, host or storage with per-VM or container and per-disk visualization. And real-time, actionable and historical data allows for immediate troubleshooting and insightful trending analytics.
You can run multiple hypervisors, including those offered by Microsoft, Citrix, Red Hat, and VMware, and cloud solutions such as OpenStack and containers, concurrently on a Tintri array without partitioning their storage. Tintri OS supports containers that run within virtual machines, or through our support for vSphere Integrated Container, or VIC.

VM Scale-out creates resource pools of Tintri storage systems and intelligently optimizes the location of every application across those pools.
ReplicateVM offers VM-level asynchronous replication and synchronous replication for mission-critical applications. Asynchronous replication provides recovery point objectives, or RPO, as low as 1 minute. Multi-site DR can be supported with great flexibility: one-to-one, many-to-one and one-to-many replication on a per-VM basis. Synchronous replication offers zero RPO.
Copy Data Management
SyncVM does advanced snapshot management for copy data management, allowing flexible point-in-time recovery for applications, file level restore from snaps and update of child applications from a master application snapshot.
SecureVM provides built-in encryption for data-at-rest, and supports manual key rotation and integration with external enterprise key management systems to cryptographically secure an entire lost or stolen array.
Tintri cloud connector allows for data protection of local snapshots to the public cloud without the need for tapes or dedicated secondary sites.
